The Oregon Contractors Workers' Compensation Trust

The Oregon Contractors Workers' Compensation Trust, frequently referred to as "The Trust" by members, received its certificate of authority from the State of Oregon and began operations in 1997.  Since then, it has become an excellent choice for obtaining workers' compensation coverage for building and remodeling contractors, landscapers, nurseries and their suppliers.
The Trust has earned the endorsements of eleven trade associations that have come to view this program as a strong membership benefit.
More importantly, “The Trust" has saved its participants thousands of dollars a year in workers' compensation costs.  These savings have not come about by accident; they demonstrate commitment to excellence in underwriting, risk control, claims handling and risk management consultation. The Trust’s Mission Statement clearly speaks to this performance:
To provide our members and partners long-term access to superior risk management services, the quality of which, is measured by the effectiveness of lowering their cost of risk over time and membership services that strengthen the advantages of membership in our sponsoring associations.

Nurse Triage Services by Company Nurse

Nurse Triage Service Helps Members Make the Right Call for Injuries

The Trust has engaged Company Nurse to provide members and their employees 24/7 access to the Nurse Triage injury hotline.  Staffed with triage nurses, this hotline helps facilitate

  • Timely reporting of injuries
  • Capture complete information for claims, and
  • Triages employees for the most appropriate level of care.

Unlike nurse case managers, triage nurses get involved at the front end of the workers' compensation process.  Injured employees are able to speak with a nurse within minutes of a workplace injury.  The nurses help to make immediate medical decisions that positively impact the employee's medical care, as well as overall claims outcomes.
